February 20, 2010: ULTRABALATON 2010 EDITION
by Editor

Official denial by the organizing committee of the mythical UltraBalaton, clarifying that they address the serious problems that plagued the apparatus of a race by now become a legend dell'ultramaratona world. The entire tour of Lake Balaton (Hungary), will be held regularly for the year 2010, starting at 10.00 on June 19 and maximum of 32 hours to complete a perimeter of 212 km, ascents and descents of a challenge.

February 15, 2010:
TRANSLOVENIA WINTER EDITION, MONICA BARCHETTI ARE SECOND IN THE SNOW.
by Editor

It ended the winter edition of the race Slovenia, with a final stage relatively less demanding than the previous, at least for the mileage, which involved a commitment of 35 km. The climate at the start and during the entire course, has never risen above -6 °, putting a strain on the muscular endurance of the athletes have already been tested by fatigue and cold of the previous days.
The final standings saw the first place the Slovenian Lojze Primozic which took a total of 15:45:14, in front of compatriot Bostjan Potocnik (16:08.21) and the Polish Ireneusz Waluga (16:37.31). The runners of the house, therefore, have good results, and this performance left glimpse the possibility of a renaissance of Slovenian fondismo long breath, after many generations ago by Dusan Mravlje. Are all good runners, with times that you attest under the 2h30 'and measuring for the first time in a stage race like this, have shown very good quality.
In the women won Britain's Sharon Gayter employing 19:19:23, in front of our wonderful Monica boat in 19:55:17 and 21:04:50 in the German Sylvia Rehn. Recall that the Gayter is a veritable institution in the field dell'ultramaratona, holding national records for years all over distances of more than 100 km (226 km in 24 hours). It is, like our Monica, was in Slovenia to be tested on a demanding course, the forthcoming global endeavor of Brive (F), when in May will defend the colors of England in the World Championship for the 24 hours for the 24 ^ time.
Very good indeed, the performance of blue, and after only a month after resumption of training, after a fairly serious injury, has already shown a good recovery and management of mental and physical commitment to the highest levels. The work done with the help of dietitian Marino Mariano and the experience accumulated during these years, is paying back the athlete in Bologna, which captures the umpteenth satisfaction in a very difficult comparison, where cold and snow have made the commitment truly the limit.
For his part Andrea Accorsi gave up during the third stage, due to an inflammation of the left tibial tendon. Despite several attempts, nothing could prevent the emergence of a muscular problem that, at the 40th km of the third stage, has denied the satisfaction of completing the race Slovenia.

09 February 2010: GREAT TO 6 HOURS Buud JONAS KARLSTAD (SWEDEN)
Henry Vedilei

The Swede won the last European 100km, Jonas Buud, great debut in his homeland. Saturday it has swept the 6 hours of indoor Karlstad getting a brilliant 89.400 kilometers putting it at the top the world's annual specialty. Must go back 2 years when our Marco Boffo got a better result, although we must point out that he got on the road. Recall that this guy has won the last 3 editions of the Swiss Alpine Marathon in Davos, one of the races ultratrail most important in Europe, and also an excellent specialist of this discipline.

08 February 2010: SEMICK AND ROES, ELECTED ULTRARUNNER OF 2009
world news

Like every year the magazine UltraRunning jury awarded the title of "Ultrarunner of the Year. No surprise in the women's field where Kami Semick triumphed thanks to his double success in the World 100km of Thourout and 50 km Gibraltar. In addition to these two victories on the road, the Semick in 2009 won the Miwok 100 and the American River 50, two of the most trail races' field. Be noted that the election of Semick and 'unanimously occurred,' as not happened since 1998 when winning was the immense Ann Trason. As for the square of honor, Drissy Moehl not 'The success UTMB enough to get the better of Jamie Donaldson, winner of Badwater.
In the men and more 'was the uncertainty with the butt of Karl "Mr. 100 miles" Meltzer and Geoff Roes. Popping e0 was precisely the latter thanks to the victory with records in the Wasatch Front, where he beat his Meltzer, who finished second. Many perplexities' raised the fifth assigned to Hal Korner, winner of one of the editions' of aggressive Western States, which 'was overtaken by Michael Wardian and Dave James.

January 31, 2010: 24 HOURS ULTRARUN HELSINKI - NEW WORLD RECORD FOR INDOOR WOMEN SUMIE INAGAKI.
by Editor

by Editor

The Germany, this weekend was well planned 2 race distance of 50km.

Among women with wins Veronika Ulrich 3h49'41" finishing 15th overall in general (click here), just behind the famous Christian Fatton, strong Swiss athlete, former National Ultramarathon.

January 21, 2010: COLLECTIVE TRAINING FOR PASSATORE
by the Editors in collaboration with Krakatoa Sports

Our editorial team, in collaboration with the Krakatoa Sport, ahead of 100 km of Passatore (May 2010), is organizing the training group targeted by the presence of experts and athletes often attends the event. To better organize, please notify the time your name and address, via the link CONTACT. The first training will be held Saturday, January 30th, with the following guidelines:
- Find the train station at 07:45 am in Faenza Saturday, January 30th, 2010 just in time for breakfast and to catch the train that will take us in Borgo San Lorenzo, which departs at 08:20 hours.
Arrive in Borgo San Lorenzo at 09:20, we are prepared and leaves at around 09:40 hours.
The 35km journey so far and will be the same as the 100km of the trafficker, say the most challenging part as it will go up to the pass of the neck and down to Marradi (Central Station directly exit the country).
The train for the return from Faenza Marradi leaves at 14:56 and arrives at 17:27, then the time to finish the workout is approximately 5 hours, so it is affordable for everyone.
It is hoped to make homogeneous groups of stroke but if not possible, it will surely be useful to know the roads as they fight to the end of May and exchange views and advice on their training with more experienced athletes.
Due to the specificity of training (there and back by train) and the period of performance (in winter), you should bring along a backpack to carry clothes for the parts and the liquids and solids for rintegrarsi during ' training. If you need to know that along the way there are many fountains and a few bars, one sure step on the glue.
We recommend you sign up for a few days earlier to arrange the first and possibly locate us before leaving by train, leaving his mobile phone number and your e-mail and possibly indicating his race pace you plan to keep this workout.

January 18, 2010: THE RESULTS OF THE 2nd ED. MARATHON
PEACE BAGNACAVALLO (RA)
Official press release of Henry Vedilei

Receive and publish it with pleasure, the press release received by Vedilei Henry, who once again manages to make a race of fatigue, a gentle moment of encounter. Taking anything away from all the others, to whom we want to say that you were fantastic, a particular note to Ivan Cudini and the great Maria Luisa Costetti for their support and assistance that have not been spared to offer all participants.

It ended with many problems, the second edition of the marathon peace on the banks of the Lamone. The organizational machinery although improved in comparison with last year, has had some problems managing the 115 runners in this event but in the end the sympathy of the participants have returned a bit of good humor to all members of the organization.
Before I talk about the race goes to highlight the presence of the winner of last edition, Ivan Cudini that even if the same person is coming from Udine and was also placed at the disposal of the organization. I do not I will never forget, thanks Ivan.
The race saw immediately in the Ligurian head Andrea Anselmi which imposed a rate high in relation to other participants, even those who already had declared the start to do only the marathon. Andrea even if the wrong path several times, finally ended his trial in 3.17.11 (from his Garmin showed 49.3 kilometers at an average of 3:59 per km). Behind him the young promising Pugliese Massimo Terme in 3:25:33 to complete the podium and the Romagna Daniele Gentilini which goes back in the finals on the Lecco Roberto Beretta and closed at 3:26:59.
Among the women race in two of the companies training and Lecco, Patrizia Think and Juliana Arrigoni that ended less than 2 minutes apart and precisely 3:48:25 to 3:50:48 for Juliana and Patrizia, the third winner Last year Monica boat in 4:08:18.
In the men's marathon victory in 3:11:01 on Luciano Fattore Mauro Belardinelli (3.12.06) and Flavian Polinori (3.21.26) while among women win Costetti Franca (4.26.21) on Daniela Gianaroli (4.46.03) and Silvana Tosolini (5.30.38).

Surely there is much still to be improved but the will of the organizers there, and then there is good hope that in future editions of many mistakes in this issue will disappear

January 16, 2010: GREAT SUCCESS FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE 2ND EDITION DELL'ULTRATRAIL LAMONE (RA)
Henry Vedilei

Already 121 members, a real success since the period, not just right for a race like this! Indeed, the two travel distances provided, 48 km and marathon, on the banks of the Lamone River in winter means going to involve significant climatic problems that make the location very hard.

But the "people of the long," as defined by a dear friend entered the contest, will stop at no barrier and each weekly program and moves all over Italy in search of races. If you want, this is a response to the economic crisis. If you want, this is tourism and culture, as even if at first glance, the path may be tedious with the sight, a little 'from the bank, the plain Romagnola these lands there is a great culture, both sport that cultural event, just admire the Piazza Nuova where will the departure and the arrival of the event.

For fans of podismo Please note that we will cross with a refreshment at km 12 and km 36 the town of Boncellino, a country that gave birth to the great "Passator friendly", here the one who made it famous throughout the Romagna lived in many battles. At Villanova, km2 1, there is the mire eco-museum of civilization, the museum highlights the need not to disperse a variety of processing techniques of extreme value, wealth generation, which, dying out, carries with it an art specific, one might say, plaiting and through the grass in the valley, with bare hands or with the aid of rudimentary tools as was the fourteenth century and until a few decades ago.

But back to where competition among members are seasoned athletes in men's field are among the favorites Lorenzo Trincheri and Franco Zanotti, both will do a test for the next Marathon des Sables. Besides them there are other athletes who will be using the race as a test for other events, like Andrew Anselmi, Massimo Termite and Ciro Di Palma in view of the 100 km of Seregno and Andrea Accorsi in view of Slovenia Winter-Ultratrail. Among the male actors involved in the marathon should be Daniele Gentilini and Flavian Polinori. These players but there will definitely be making this participation reggiano William Govi who chose this event to celebrate his 750th marathon. Congratulations to him!

Among women the favorites are Monica Barchetti, the winner of last year and in preparation for the Winter-UltraTrail Slovenia and specialties dell'ultratrail Patrizia Think and Juliana Arrigoni. These 3 athletes recently were listed as probable National Specialty and a few days to confirm the boat came to be called to defend Italian colors during the World of 24 hours.

But the event does not end there because a portion of the proceeds will go to charity in a voluntary association NPO that helps children suffering from a rare disease called CDKL5. This initiative has meant that Andrea Accorsi, author of the wonderful book on race called "12 hours", will donate the proceeds of the sale that belong to the author in favor of this association.
There is good hope that in addition to Andrew and exercises other entities involved will make a small donation.
