MONICA

MONICA - MONDOULTRA

A life of travel.

The path of my approach to what has so far materialized as a reality, or the shirt of the Italian National dell'Ultramaratona part from a distance. I have always practiced at a competitive level, athletics, along the chain of junior categories, with an eye for the specialties on the track. To be precise, I embarked, with fairly good results at national level on distances of 400 meters. and 800 mt. until the age of majority. From there forward the commitments in the professional and the future need to be associated to the activity of the family, I was racing away from practice, for which a commitment was required in terms of time of sacrifice, beyond my capabilities. I've never gone, but the practice of an activity that allowed me, at the same time to maintain a healthy balance psychomotor, until the age of about 36 years, I decided to try the way of long distance. I resumed training with consistency and I plunged into the world of marathon, rising from 400 mt. to 42 kilometers. It was a dream since I wanted a girl, since Bordin, Pizzolato and Leone won marathon medals and historical, carrying our little planet runners, the Olympus world of athletics. Under their deeds were born the dreams of many kids who like me lived everyday of the red track, sharing the sweat and toil that will impose discipline as athletics. The results were swift and after the onset on 26/02/2006 in Salsomaggiore, with a time of 3h 17 'which allowed me to capture the eleventh place absolute love with long distances and ends in an idyll of miles that the presence of a few meters of where I cibavo child, seems almost unthinkable. To date I have completed 31 marathons, with 7 overall wins, 3 of which obtained on international routes and 17 podiums. Overcome by the joy of feedback above all expectations, I decided to lengthen the shot. I prepared more and stronger for a new challenge which I suffered the same fascination and fear, I decided I groped a 100 km range in Germany, a land that I love and from whom he had previously received satisfaction and gratification in the marathon. In August 2006 I took part in the 100 km of Leipzig and came 2nd overall at the finish line with a time of 9h 13 '. Following this, came the invitation from the National Technical Commission of specialty, to participate in the World Championship the following year. In the meantime, I improved my time at the 100 km of Tarquinia, leading to 9h 04 '. In September 2007, I participated with the national currency at the World Championships of 100km road in Winschoten in Holland. I improved my personal considerably, reaching to run the distance in 8:43 'and winning the bronze medal team. But the urge to go further, to test themselves without the constant thought that a good result could be a target, but a new starting point, prompted me to seek new shores. I started to further increase the miles in training, which up to then, the weekly average at around 90 / 100, to around 110/130. I sacrificed a further alternative to other sessions during the day at night so I could get used to running in extreme conditions. After all this to prepare for a race on the temporal distance of 24 hours. Following a contact with our technicians, federal, in view of the future composition of the team that he represented Italy at the upcoming World Championships, scheduled in October in Korea, I was asked to make a commitment to seek a result that stands the order of 170/175 Km So I attended my first 24 hours on the road, in that of Baselga the Pinè (TN), in early June. Beyond what might be my perspective and maybe even beyond my dreams, I was able to travel 199 km, winning the race and setting the 2nd best Italian benefit year. The sensations received, beyond the natural physical exhaustion were such that I definitely favor a new horizon runners, in whom I am plunged. I train in cycles with load holding a monthly average mileage of 400 km, consisting of the daily commitment of approximately 2 hours and marathons are now an important base for training.
In the file after I entered a most significant detail of the results so far achieved.

ANDREA

ANDREA - MONDOULTRA

Infinite passion

The race is for me a soundboard where I find myself, in which I watched from a different angle, more profound.
I rediscovered this wonderful gesture some years ago, following a health problem that had suddenly complicated my life.
I have used her to get to know where I can smooth out, where to look for new footholds to climb beyond the darkness that surrounded me at the time.
In return I received so much, a truly new engine with which to resume a path interrupted and a beacon to illuminate the steps. I discovered how the pain came from hard work, sweat, by miles, is a taste far less bitter than it might appear from the outside. I learned that my feet and get along with my moods and loneliness that sometimes become necessary to know classmates better. I'll never be able to return to the race with what you gave to me, but I can spread the message that I received and share experiences with those who have experienced the taste.
The competitive aspect I've never been limited in the desire for knowledge and for this reason that my horizons have gone further and further, to discover where (to quote the words of a great friend) the air is colder, more terse more raw, but always warms the heart of who knows breathe.
In the file I've attached my results are recorded from the statistical point of view and only for complete information I decided to publish them, although I think they are absolutely not an important aspect. Are just a step from the finish time on a clock, a shiver on my skin. Every time.
